FCE6: Implant Placement Timing and Optimal Soft Tissue Esthetics for Anterior Single Implants

This course will discuss implant placement timing for single implants in the esthetic zone when facing the replacement of a hopeless anterior tooth that needs to be extracted. A clear emphasis will be placed on the achievement of a top score on the soft tissue esthetics outcomes. Among the different therapeutic options, socket preservation, immediate implant placement or delayed implants will be in detail described.

Educational Objectives:

• Discuss the biological processes of bone modeling and remodeling occurring after tooth extraction, and the available therapies that may compensate buccal tissue alterations.
• Recognize the critical surgical details of immediate and delayed implant placement with a preferential focus towards obtaining natural soft tissue esthetics.
• Assess the long-term stability of the buccal mucosal around single implants.
