FCE3: Getting to “YES:” Secrets for Successful Relationships with Your Patients
November 3 @ 10:45 am - 12:15 pm
Program Track: Leadership, Personal, and Practice Development
John R. Herrin
The business environment in which we conduct our periodontal practice is rapidly changing. In this age of increasing commoditization of the services periodontists provide—due to the pressures of third-party payer interference and increase in competition with general dentists and other dental specialists who provide periodontal and implant services—the periodontal practice doctor-patient relationship is radically changing. The periodontist can overcome these challenges only by creating a relationship with the patient that focuses on trust. To give patients what they really want, honor their freedom of choice, and give them the time and space to make the decisions that are best for them.
Dr. Edwards will discuss building a one-to-one practice that allows you to emotionally connect and convert more of your best patients into long-term patients. Dr. Sonick will discuss establishing healthy relationships with patients based on trust and shared decision-making with the patient, doctor, and team leading to them saying “yes” to comprehensive dental treatment.
- Establish rapport, trust, and engagement with your patient.
- Achieve greater patient acceptance of comprehensive treatment.
- Create freedom to practice the way you want to practice.
- Identify how to differentiate your practice from corporate and insurance driven practices.
